august is walking away, and i havent had a new post for nearly 3 months! longest period of blog abandonment ever. my blog's already bersawang and dusty all over.
september's coming tomorrow (yay!), so i decided to have at least an entry in august coz i didnt have any in july. actually i did write something after i came back from my nz trip, but haha, it just remains as a draft. well, at least until today. coz here's what i wrote:
alhamdulillah. back in sunny brissy, safe and sound. my nz trip was fun yet physically challenging. fun because i had a great time seeing new places and things, and i enjoyed my 'kiwi' friends' fabulous warm hospitality. thank you thank you. korang, nanti datangla oz ek ;) physically challenging because my skin and my nose were soo sensitive to the cold and dry weather. it makes me really thankful that i'm studying in brisbane. wonder how i would survive if i was sent to the land of the queen's. thank you God and thank you dr. suraya. oh ya, it also made me more paranoid about the whole swine flu thingy.
so that was it. hehe. the unfinished post. i have to say, my passion for blogging is just gradually dying. no particular reason for that, just like how we got over barbie dolls and friendster i guess. ok maybe not barbie dolls. just saying.
a few months left before the big day - my flight back to malaysia! really excited, but i have toned it down a bit coz i dont know if i can afford to come back to oz anytime soon. so i'm just gonna try to let myself loving every minute in brisbane with all my heart while i'm still subsidised to do so (^o^), despite countless tearful moments of missing home. but i do love oz ok, dont get me wrong. i just love malaysia more.
so, as always..... photo-story. basi but whatever.
I ♥ OZ. and NZ.

Measure up
Friday, March 27, 2009
a NEW new resolution surfaces. i'm so going on a balanced and healthy diet. sounds familiar huh. ehem, not so new actually. coz i see that statement i just made every year in my new year resolutions list. the same old resolution. so much of a new year resolution. hehe. but this time, i really mean it. (ye ke?) coz reading this advert leaves my conscious mind in a state of realisation -
Irrespective of your height or build, if your waistline is getting bigger it could mean you are at increased risk of chronic diseases like some cancers, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
For most women, a waistline measurement of over 80cm carries increased risk and over 88cm indicates greatly increased risk.
*gasp* i need to come down from the milky way, off my la la land, and get my feet on the solid ground. if you want to be healthy, then try to be healthy humairah. if you want your waistline to get smaller, then you have to work for it. you dont make a wish upon a shining star and wake up in the morning with a size-2 figure. if you acutely recognise the relationship between chronic diseases and your longevity, you need to get your sleepy-head off your pillow and go hit the gym (ye2 je. gym? hehe. well, not literally). girl you sure have a work to do! and clearly not an easy one.
and oh, dont give me that kurus-tapi-perasan-gemuk look. huhu. small in size doesnt guarantee you're all healthy inside. just like what the advert says, i quote - irrespective of your height or build. people that had lived and are living with me under the same roof know my eating routines, which, are NOT healthy. kak N didnt tag me as 'the fatty one' in facebook for no reason. kan kak N? hehe.
it's gonna be harder in winter. food becomes like oxygen to me. inseparable. (exaggerating ;p). and trust me, i wouldnt feel apprehensive or bother to spare my time on this if my measuring tape showed me what i wanted to see. too bad for me, it didnt. so as much as you hate to hear or see the truth, that's how much you have to deal with it.
i'm actually doing a favor for the australian government, arent i? hehe. so girls, grab a measuring tape and let's start eating healthily ;)

saye yang hitam maken hitam. oh yes. oz rocks, but i love malaysia much2 more. cant wait to go home. i know im gonna miss oz sooo so much when im in msia, i know i'll be wanting to be in oz again sooo bad, but really, am missing home at the highest degree rite now. here i am with the "i know-but" sentence again. hmm but looking on the bright sight, living far from home teaches me a lot. i have to berdikari, bersabar, berusaha, bersabar, berjimat, bersabar, berfikiran matang, bersabar, bersabar, bersabar, bersabar, just to name a few. macam sekarang, tak sabar nak balik!!! tapi kena bersabar jugak. hmmph. i was ok in the first couple of semesters. i did miss home, but i wasnt that homesick, not to this extent. i guess doing nothing for 3 months and at the same time being homeless have made me gone slightly cuckoo. very cuckoo perhaps. i need to get myself busy. cant wait to go home!

Honestly, at first I was quite reluctant when kak lin told me we were going to be in melb for 3 weeks. Coz rase segan sgt tumpg umah org for too long. And rase, what we gonna do in melb smpai 3 mggu? But as I was in melb, I found myself starting to understand. I saw the picture of this whole thing. I’ve learned so much, jazakunallah to akhawat brissy n melb… kak lin, kak cik, kak wina… kak ainun, kak zaza, kak azza, kak aini, kak syikin who provided the shelter… kak ja, kak sufia, kak rina, kak balkhis, kak abby, kak maleen, kak intan, adek, izyan yg jage dak2 brissy yg semangat tak ingt dunia nih huhu (bgsla, ingt akhirat ;p).. sori if I miss anyone out…
Recently, I came across these ayats.
“Wahai orang2 yang beriman! Mengapa apabila dikatakan kepada kamu, ‘berangkatlah untuk berperang dijalan Allah’, kamu merasa berat dan ingin tinggal di tempat mu? Apakah kamu lebih menyenangi kehidupan di dunia daripada kehidupan di akhirat? Padahal kenikmatan hidup di dunia ini dibandingkan dengan kehidupan di akhirat hanyalah sedikit” (9:38)
I was like, whoa, that, definitely hits me. Ok, another ayat.
“Dan orang2 yang beriman dan berhijrah serta berjihad di jalan Allah, dan orang2 yang memberi tempat kediaman dan memberi pertolongan kepada orang muhajirin, mereka itulah orang yang benar beriman. Mereka memperoleh ampunan dan rezeki yang mulia” (8:74)
That goes for akhawat melb :)
Love u all fillah…
